Career as a Cabin Crew


A commercial aircraft will have, apart from the Captain a pilot and co-pilot, people in the cabin to look after the welfare of the passengers during the flying time. They include the Airhostess, purser, flight attendant who are known as the cabin crew. If you want to take up a career as cabin crew, you must have a university degree and the knowledge of more than one language will be an added advantage. You have to apply to various airline companies. If selected you have to undergo training before you are put on the job.
Cabin Crew Career
As a cabin crew, you will be responsible to direct the passengers to their seats, assist in the handling the cabin baggage, demonstrate the methods of tying the seat belts, demonstrate the use of oxygen masks, attend to their calls, serve food and beverages, assist them in case of any emergency. To be a cabin crew, you must have pleasing personality, good looks, fluent in your language, courteous, well mannered. You must have lot of patience to answer various questions of the passengers. You must not loose your cool and your answers should not be harsh. You must have extraordinary communicating skills. You must not panic in case of any emergency and must be in a position to console the passengers. You may come across some passengers who are irksome and will be making sarcastic comments every now and then or some passengers may behave rudely under the influence of alcohol. You must know how to deal with such passengers tactfully.
As a cabin-crew, you are required to travel to various destinations. You must be in impeccable health to with stand the various weather conditions and accustomed to various types of foods. The salary package is very good in this career and your family will get free travel as a perquisite. Once you get experience, you can change the airline presently working to a better airline with additional benefits. You can also get promotions in your career to a higher grade with higher salary. The demand for the cabin crew is increasing. If you have, the knowledge of additional languages the airline companies may appoint you in international routes also.
